Dr. Leonard J. Coppes graduated from Westminster Seminary (Th. D.) with extensive post-graduate language work at Dropsie. He contributed to the New King James Bible, the Nelson Bible Almanac, and the Theological Wordbook of the OT. Over his lifetime, Dr. Coppes authored more than two dozen books and pamphlets on a wide range of topics, showcasing his theological insight on contemporary issues. He served as an Orthodox Presbyterian pastor for over 40 years and was a member of General Assembly study committees, including those on paedocommunion and the days of creation. He also served for many years as the treasurer of the OPC General Assembly’s Committee on Diaconal Ministries.

His 40+ years of experience and godly wisdom, combined with his deep theological education, were a great blessing to our church and community. Dr. Coppes resided in Charlotte, North Carolina in his later years until his passing in 2024. Read more
